Quidditch - Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day in the United States.  For most of the Nation, today is a holiday.  We are off from work and school.  We say "Thank You" to any Military Service Member we know and see today.  As you share today with your family and friends, think about the families of our Service Members who carry on while their loved one is away (and wonder if they will return) and thank them for their sacrifice as well.

A poem for you.

What Heroes Gave
by Roger Robicheau

Each donned their uniform to be
Defenders of our liberty

Their mission sure, their spirits bright
Guard freedom’s home, be brave to fight

One final day each faced their call
Each gave their best enduring all

We’ll never know what they went through
But know they loved this country true

Deep down inside we should all feel
What heroes gave, their cost so real

We must stay thankful, grateful of
The gift of freedom through their love

Their loved ones bore the gravest pain
What we can’t know, some now sustain

To God I pray their pain will cease
And each will find long-lasting peace

Remember this from year to year
What heroes gave – shan’t disappear

We’ll never let their special day
Their time for honor slip away

These brave fought for a nation free
If not for them, where would we be?

QUIDDITCH
Hufflepuff is holding on to 2nd place in our Unofficial Goals!  Two more days of play; will you make it to the Pitch?

Speaking of the Pitch.  If you have not been over there just to look at the projects, you should.  Last week I posted a few pictures of Hufflepuff Goals but you should have a look at what others are posting.  Stop by the Pitch and cheer them on!

The Tie-In
Here, in The Cup, we often think of our wizard counterparts who fought bravely in both the First and Second Wizarding Wars.  So, as we play Quidditch today, craft in the name of a fallen Cup hero, in Real Life or in the Canon.

If you have lost a loved one in any of the Wars, I say a heartfelt Thank You for your sacrifice.

Quidditch Fans, have a wonderful day.  I hope to see YOU on the Pitch. Until next time; Keep your eyes on the Golden Snitch!
