July winner

Ladies, gentlemen and badgers, the prize winners from July have been announced.

Let's applaud anneadeline who received an award for her extraordinary thigh-high rainbow socks! From what I've heard these socks are not only warm and cute, but they also banish dementors and attract unicorns. How cool is that?

Congratulations, anneadeline!

July nominations

Hello, everyone. First of all, I'd like to apologize for falling off the face of the earth last month. July was a bad month for me and August isn't much better really, but at least I have some prize announcements to cheer me up. As always we've had some extraordinary projects to represent the noble house of Hufflepuff. You guys are amazing. So without further ado, the talented nominees!

In Quidditch, yarnvista drew everyone's attention with her mega awesome mega blanket for the mega challenge.
In the OWLs, Pacasha was nominated for her Unicorn inspired cabled sweater and Bijou3owl was nominated for her twinkling night sky Aeolian.
In Potions, SuperM received a nomination for her adorable songbird shawl.
In HoM, Evucis was nominated for her Little Dolls sweater, modeled by the cutest little doll ever. And since we're on the subject, StitchyWitchy was nominated for her sweet baby Lily Luna Potter doll.
In Ancient Runes, Evucis was nominated for her cute Flutter-by Daffodil socks.
In DADA, kreachr was nominated for her so beautiful South African Merino handspun, anneadeline was nominated for her extraordinarily long (!) rainbow socks and Evucis was nominated for her amazing dragonfly sweater. Pay special attention when voting for your favorite DADA projects, because the nominations are not in order. I believe Hilltopkatie was so busy drooling over kreachr's handspun that she forgot to nominate anyone else until the very end of the thread.
In charms, Evucis received a nomination for her frosted petals shawl. So romantic!
And, in Herbology, tiggersjp was nominated for her cabled Dixie pillow. Looks really cozy!

Good job, nominees! Congratulations!

May winner

May prize winners were announced and our very own Evucis earned not one but TWO prizes this month!
Check out her winning projects: for Herbology she made lace socks with a flower motif and for charms she made color work socks with a nightingale motif.
Both projects seem so complicated and they look absolutely wonderful.

Good job, Evucis! Let's hear a round of applause for this talented first-year!

May nominations

May prize nominations are up, everyone! Sorry for the delay in announcing, but there is still plenty of time to go vote!

In detention we have MopsyRoebuck nominated for her Aeolian and suzanneoswald nominated for her Teal Partie Innabun. Two big and daring lace projects. Impressive!
In History of Magic we had three nominees: Evucis with her scarily realistic spider socks, m8land with her rather inventive balloon crocodile and Bijou3owl with her gorgeous lace seashell shawl.
In Potions there is lettuceleaf with her sexy watercolor camisole.
In Charms we have Evucis (again!) with her amazing Nightingale socks.
In Ancient Runes there is richtergasse and her interesting woven shawl (So cool!), and yarnvista with her apple socks made to represent the Norse Goddess of apples (Is she classy or what?).
In Herbology we have Evucis (now where have I heard that name before?) with her flowery socks, gnomenapper with her lovely handspun Dropped blossoms yarn and optijoy with her cute and delicate Haruni.

Congratulations to the nominees. Those are all amazing projects!

Bonus prize

The winner of the March bonus points award is clementine1 with 17 points! The profs really pulled back on bonus points across the board this month, so I want all of you to know you did fabulously and please don't anyone be disappointed if you handed in something you were really proud of and then saw it not receive the same recognition it might have gotten other months; overall grading was scaled back a bit for everyone in every House, so just take great pride in what you made and what you shared.

But in a slightly related announcement, I want to publicly recognize 3 special 'Puffs, our super-achievers among super-achievers (which is all of you): curiouskate, pacasha and JMN each earned 600 points individually this Term! Way to go!

Head of House Contest for February!

Attention Badgers!

Leesy has announced that she is holding a contest this month. Details are here.

Attention all ‘Puffs (but I’m not going to make you all nuts by earburning you):
February is popularly thought of as the month of love. To extend the love, your HoH is holding a special February contest. Show your love by creating a project to donate to a good cause or someone in need. I will interpret this very liberally–you can make something and donate to a formal charity or you can designate someone you know personally or casually whom you know to be somehow in need (sad, missing someone, anything) and gift them with something. You may use something you hand in as homework for a class, so long as you commit to giving it away as an act of love for someone in need. To enter, just show us your project completed by February 28, here in the thread. Earburn me so I know it’s an entry to the contest. The first week of March I’ll give each entry a number based on order of entry and use a random number generator to pick a winner of a prize which I’ll send you.

January Prizes Announced!

A big Badgertastic congratulations to Pacasha and Hoodlumknit who both won prizes for projects completed in January!

Pacasha won a prize for her sipalu bag.

Hoodlumknit won a prize for her fiddlehead mittens. She was also nominated for a prize for her later gator mitts.

Also nominated for prizes were suzanneoswald for her cable knit throw, yarnvista for her Technicolor Droste Funcoat, and tiggersjp for her lacy gloves.

Congratulations, and great work!

February nominations

Lots of nominations this month, fellow 'puffs'! Now don't be shy, let's go running to vote for our friends:
Pacasha, nominated for her impressive bag from Potions.
Tiggersjp, nominated for her sexy fiery gloves from divination.
Yarnvista who received two nominations! For her rather dizzying coat from Arithmancy and for her cute Puffers from Charms.
And Hoodlumknit who also received two nominations! For her cheerful detention mittens and for her fire breathing gators from divination (You sure you should let your boy play with those?).
There was also a little misunderstanding with Hoodlumknit, she was nominated for a second project from Divination, which actually belongs to djmeurer of Ravenclaw. I'm sure Hilltopkatie will fix that soon. But make no mistake when voting, people, her real project can be recognized by the path of destruction they leave behind them, I'm sure you'll find it easy to track down fire breathing gators!
