Movie Weekend #4 September 24, 25, 26

Because this is the last movie weekend in September, and our beloved Professor McGonagall, Maggie Smith, is in a movie called "The Last September"(which also has Michael Gambon in it, and is unfortunately rated R), for a theme this week I've chosen movies featuring Maggie Smith!

Your choices are:

Curtain Call***

Murder by Death***

Sister Act***

Ladies in Lavender***

All titles are available to watch instantly from Netflix. Your local library may be able to order movies from other branches if they're not available from your branch.

Leave a comment with your choice below. I'll count them up, and announce the winner on Thursday, September 23.

  3. You missed Room with a View, though, which also has Helena Bonham-Carter. Another time...

  4. I have Room with a View (two different versions!) in my queue! Since I haven't seen it, and it was listed as NR I wasn't sure if it met the PG-13 requirement.

  5. There's some **ahem** nekkid guys in that movie. Poor Charlotte!

  6. It actually does have one scene of violence and one nude scene (totally non-sexual--it's a group of males going for an innocent skinny dip, but they run around a great deal). I let my 14 year old see it, but I agree it's not necessarily a PG depending on a given family's preference.

  7. I'm afraid that I'm the first dissenting voice. My first choice is Curtain Call, but Murder By Death is my 2nd choice. Both are on my Instant Queue now :o)

  8. This is a tough one! I vote for Curtain Call. I haven't seen it, but if Murder By Death wins, I love that movie, too.

  9. Ok. I just read my comment and it sounds weird. I haven't seen Curtain Call, but I have seen Murder By Death - and I love it.

  10. Oh, my first choice is Sister Act I and II! I loved her in both. I've never seen the other 3.
