Movie Weekend #3 - September 17, 18, 19

To celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day September 19th, the theme for this weekend's movies is (of course!) pirates!

Here are the week's movie choices:

Peter Pan*** (2000 Broadway musical version with Cathy Rigby)

Treasure Island*** (2002, animated)

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Movies indicated with *** are available from Netflix to "Watch Instantly". Be sure to check with your local library - if they don't have a title available, you may be able to order it from another branch.

Leave a comment below with your preference - I'll count them up and announce the week's winner on Thursday.

Thursday Update: Well, it was close, but Pirates of the Caribbean was the winner for this weekend.

Thanks to everyone who voted!

  1. I've never seen any of the Pirates movies all the way through, so I'm gonna say Treasure Island.

  2. Pirates of the Caribbean - of course! Gotta love that Captain Jack Sparrow.

  3. Since I've never actually seen any version of Peter Pan, I'll go with that!

  4. What? No Muppets Treasure Island?! For shame!

In that case I vote for Hook cause I have seen PotC too many times.

  5. Capt Jack for me!

  6. Pirates of the Caribbean! Pirates of the Caribbean! Pirates of the Caribbean!

Does this count as three votes? ;)

  7. Delphine - I take your post just to be full of Captain Jack enthusiasm. But I'll count it as one vote. :)

  8. Pirates of the Caribbean. Woo hoo!!!

  9. Mushroom says Treasure Island.
I agree it should be Muppet Treasure Island though. :D

  10. Hook gets my vote.

  11. I just watched PoC last week so I'll vote for Treasure Island, which I've never seen.

  12. I've just seen PoC a few days ago as well, and this will be a family movie watching event, so I'm voting for Treasure Island, although I'd really prefer the muppets to the the animated one. But I know my boy will enjoy either, so it's good :o)
