Leave a comment with your favorite - I'll tally the votes and post the result on October 14th. Movies indicated with *** are available to view instantly from Netlifx.

  1. oooh, I get to be the first vote, do I?!?!?!

ummm, this seems so monumental, must choose well...

I'll go with Ghost. I haven't seen it in forever. Someday I'll sit through Titanic again but it's like Lord of the Rings, it'll take me a whole week to get through it!

  2. When I saw Titanic I cried through the whole movie, my kids asked me why I cried bc it wasn't sad at the time, and I told them that I know what was going to happen. I will never ever se that movie again, I could starrt crying now just thinking about it! Haven't seen either Bright Star nor Steel Magnolias so I'll go for Bright Star, since I love historic movies. Could someone please pass a tissue...

  3. I'll go with Steel Magnolias. It's already in my queue so this will give me the push I need to actually watch it.

  4. Jenn, I haven't scene Ghost in forever, either. I have a copy of it hanging out here somewhere in VHS, but I have no idea where it is.

Eva,when I saw Titanic in the theater, I got so swept up in the story that I think I forgot I knew how it ended - it was devastating. There are still scenes that can make me tear up just thinking about them.

Alexander - if Steel Magnolias doesn't get chosen this week, you'll have to watch it anyway - it's a classic!

  6. I'm gonna go with Ghost. I love Steel Magnolias, but it makes me cry the "ugly cry" especially the scene where Sally Field loses it. An aside on that scene, since it is so reminiscent of Shirley MacLaine's performance in Terms of Endearment(fabulous tearjerker in it's own right)- I wonder if Sally felt the pressure of that since Shirley's in the scene with her?

  8. Well, not too many comments to count this time - but enough for Steel Magnolias to get a majority!
